
The Lakshadweep NCC Rally 2025, themed “Dweep Utsav, Rashtriya Gaurav”, ceremoniously commenced from Kavaratti Island with great enthusiasm. The rally, led by Commander Fabio Joseph, Commanding Officer, Lakshadweep Naval NCC Unit, comprises 02 Officers, 07 PI Staff, 02 ANOs, 01 GCI, 20 Cadets (boys and girls), and support personnel.
During these 20 days period, the team will traverse nine islands — including Agatti, Chetlat, Kiltan, Kadmat, Amini, Androth, Kalpeni, and Minicoy — conducting a wide range of activities to promote unity, leadership, and environmental awareness.
The rally aims to foster national integration, showcase the cultural heritage of Lakshadweep, and instill discipline, adventure, and comradeship among NCC cadets. Key events include Walkathons, Cycle Rallies, Water Sports, and Coastal Cleanup Drives focusing on health, fitness, and marine conservation.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Major General Ramesh Shanmugam, ADG NCC Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate, and Commodore Jose Vikas, Group Commander, Ernakulam, who interacted with cadets and lauded their enthusiasm.
In the coming days, the rally will feature Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Coral Restoration, and Cultural Performances, reflecting India’s unity in diversity and nurturing responsible, patriotic youth leaders across the islands.
