Dhanumasa Thiruvathira Mahotsavam at Chengallur Sri Mahadeva Temple from 4th to 13th January 2025

Thiruvananthapuram: The Dhanumasa Thiruvathira Mahotsavam of the historic and holy ancient Shiva temple of Chengallur Sree Mahadeva Temple will begin on the 4th and conclude on the 13th with Aarattu
On the first festival day, the 4th, on Saturday, there will be special pujas, Unniappam Moodal to Ganapathi Bhagavan at 7 pm, and Thrikkodiyate at 7.30 pm. At 8 pm, Devaswom Board President Prashanth will dedicate the festival programs and renovation programs. This will be followed by Narayani Parayanam, Bhajans, and at 9 pm, there will be Thullal Threyam by Vishwakal Kendram C. Balakrishnan and Party.
On the second day of the festival, Sunday, the 5th, there will be special poojas in the morning, Kavadi procession from the Naduthala Bhagavathy temple at 8 am, Shashti poojas at 9.45 am, and Kanjiveezhthu at 12 pm.
The artistic programs will be Karaoke Ganamela at 12.30 pm, Nrithadhwani at 2 pm, Bhakti Ganamrutham at 4 pm, Bharatanatyam at 6.45 pm, Bharatanatyapushpanjali at 7 pm, Nritarchana at 8 pm, and Maithri Megashow hosted by film and serial comedy stars Sivamurali, Jagadish Prasad, and Saji Chengallur at 9 pm.
On the third festival day, Monday, the 6th, there will be special festival poojas in the morning, Thiru Utsavabali at 8.30 am, Annadanam at 12 noon, Family Welfare Poojas at 6.40 pm, Bamboo laying and Bamboo Poojas at 7.15 pm, and artistic programs such as Karaoke Ganamela at 1 pm, Bhajans at 4 pm, Pullangkuzhal Fusion at 5.15 pm, Sangeetha Sadas performed by Vellayani Ashok Kumar at 6.15 pm, and Dance performed by Tripura Kalakendra Poojappura at 8.30 pm.
On the fourth day of the festival, Tuesday, the 7th, there will be special festival poojas in the morning, Nagaroot at 11.30, Annadanam at 12 noon, lighting of the lamp at 6 pm, family welfare poojas at 6:40 pm, and Mulapoojas at 7.15 pm. The cultural programs will include karaoke singing at 12.30 pm, bhajans at 4 pm, Pinnal Thiruvathira and Kolkkali performed by Rudratalam Kalasamithi at 5.15 pm, devotional hymns at 6.15 pm, and dance recital at 8.30 pm.
On the fifth festival day, Wednesday, 8th, there will be special pujas for the festival in the morning, Thiru Utsava Bali at 8.30, Annadanam at 12 noon, Kudumbakshema Puja at 6.40 pm, and artistic programs such as karaoke singing at 1 pm, bhajans at 5.15, dance evening at 6.15, dance by Natya School of Dance at 7 pm, and Vilkalamela by Krishnakala Thiruvananthapuram at 8.30 pm. On the sixth festival day, Thursday, 9th, there will be special pujas for the festival in the morning, Annadanam at 12 pm, Seva Eshunullath at 7.15 pm, and artistic programs such as devotional songs at 4 pm, dances at 5 pm, and mega singing led by famous singer Amrita at 9.15 pm.
On the seventh festival day, Friday, the 10th, there will be Akhanda Namajapam at 6 am followed by special festival poojas, Thiru Utsavabali at 8.30 am, Annadanam at 12 noon, public flower offering at 7 pm, devotional songs as artistic performances, dance evening at 5.15 pm, dance at 6.45 pm, dance performances by Natyamandir School of Arts at 7.45 am, and Kathakali by Natyasala Kathakali Sangam at 9.30 am.
On the eighth festival day, Saturday, 11th, special festival day poojas will be held in the morning, Annadanam at 12 noon, Pradosha poojas at 7.15 pm, a musical concert at 4.15 pm, dance by Nritha Sadhana at 6 pm, and a dance evening by Harisree School of Dance. On the ninth festival day, Sunday, 12th, Koottuganapathi Homam will be held at 6 am, followed by special festival day poojas, Gaja poojas and elephant feeding at 11.30 am, Annadanam at 12 pm, Pallivetta Ezhunullath at 7.15 pm, fireworks at 9.30 am, and Pallikurup Kottipadi Seva at 11.30 am. The cultural programs include Bhajans at 7.30 am, Tabla at 12 noon, Karaoke at 1.15 pm, Bhajans at 3 pm, Devotional hymns at 4.30 pm, and Dance at 5.45 pm.
The festival will conclude on the 13th, the 10th day of the festival, on Monday, with Ardra Darshan at 6 am, Thiruvathira Aarattu Sadhya at 11.30 am, Thrikkodiya Irak at 5 pm, Thiru Aarattu followed by Aarattu procession at 6 pm, Thiruvathirakkali as artistic performances, Karaoke Ganamela at 11.30 am, Bhajanamritham at 4 pm, and Sampradaya Bhajans at 5.15 pm
